I just met Mucki! For those who do not know him, Mucki is a charming little dog, who stars in the stories of a collection of children's books, with the purpose of raising awareness about the need to care for and protect the environment. In the first children's story in this book series, 'Mucki and the Margarita Trout', this friendly little dog puts children in contact with the most fascinating and attractive side of nature.
The story tells us that Mucki was abandoned in a village when he was still very young. Like all dogs that are abandoned, Mucki felt fear, loneliness, hunger ... and when everything seemed to have no solution, Julia, a girl who spent weekends in the village, took him in, adopted him and gave him this name so curious that in German it means "muscular". Today, Mucki is a dog that lives quietly in Madrid, but on weekends he goes with Julia to the village, where he has many friends, the trout Margarita and the mare Apothecary, who will help him in the story to discover who has polluted stream water endangering the lives of the village animals.
This is the first book in the "Mucki Green Books" collection. With this new release, the aim is to transmit and make children reflect on how important it is to take care of nature. Through Mucki's stories, children will be able to learn some values such as respect for nature and respect for the common good, so necessary today. With striking illustrations, the collection incorporates pedagogical activities such as drawing, coloring, finding differences, as well as conducting simple experiments that can help prevent environmental deterioration.
In addition to the message conveyed by the collection, the books are made with a paper originating from forests managed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an institution that monitors the fulfillment of the rights of indigenous peoples, the increase of social well-being in the long run term and the economic well-being of workers and communities neighboring the forests. FSC also ensures that felled trees are replanted. If you are looking for a book to help you give your child a push so that he understands that with a small and good attitude we can change many things in our environment for the better, this collection would be a good tool for it.
